Managing Diversity Begins with You
The purpose of this intermediate course is to acquire a conceptual framework with tools to manage diversity in the workplace as a way of improving service delivery, quality, and accessibility. It is expected that each participant will be able to identify their role in their own organization with respect to diversity and cultural competency and to position their organization as a leading organization in the delivery of cultural competent services.

Wm. Marty Martin, Psy.D., MPH, MA
Dr. Wm. Marty Martin is currently Associate V. P. of Human Resources at De Paul University in Chicago, Illinois. He is responsible for navigating strategic change in the health benefits, compensation, human resources information systems, recruitment, and training/development functions at De Paul University.
Prior to assuming this leadership role, Marty served as Clinical Associate Professor at Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in the Dept. of Health Systems Management where he taught executive and graduate-level courses in human resources, health management, health care marketing, organizational behavior, and complementary/alternative medicine. He also consulted with numerous public health agencies and organizations on issues related to diversity management, career management, team development, and human resources management.
Marty is also the President of his own coaching, consulting, and training firm for public health professionals and organizations. The consultation and training services include but are not limited to the following offerings: strategic planning facilitation; retreat facilitation; diversity and cultural competency training; and stress management training as well as consultation on a variety of human resources challenges facing public health agencies ranging from recruitment to discipline.
