Course Description:

LaHRH101: After the Hurricane Potential Hazards and Disaster Recovery is first in a four-course learning series. 

The goal of this course is to improve understanding and preparedness for safely managing hurricane and flood recovery. The course curriculum is designed to provide general guidance and training to the public health workforce, response workers, volunteers, and community members who face the hazards that arise after hurricanes and floods occur in Louisiana. 

Target Audience

Academic Faculty/Staff, Federal Government Employees, State Government Employees, Local Government Employees, Non-Government Employees and Students.

Learning Objectives

  • Safely perform disaster recovery response after a hurricane or flood
  • List potential hazards you might encounter when returning after a hurricane or flood
  • Describe the PPE that should be used during disaster recovery
  • List general hurricane recovery safety tips

Rosalind Green, ScD

Dr. Rosalind Green has worked in public health since 2008. Currently employed by the Louisiana Department of Health/Office of Public Health/Section of Environmental Epidemiology and Toxicology, Dr. Green serves as an environmental health scientist supervisor for the section’s Health Assessment program. Dr. Green is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana, Tulane University, and Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
