Louisiana Pet Disaster Response

Description:

The Louisiana Pet Disaster Response curriculum was developed by the Louisiana State Animal Response Team (LSART) to provide general guidance and training to the public health workforce, response workers, volunteers, and community members who face the challenge of developing and operating evacuation points and household pet shelters during emergencies and disasters.

The 3 courses in this curriculum cover topics related to standardized guidelines for safe and efficient household pet evacuation, while ensuring that all pets are properly identified, registered and linked to their owners, to facilitate reunification if separated and setting up and operating a temporary pet emergency shelter in a community.
