Course Description:This course will address the nature of Bioterrorism and discuss useful patterns of events, which may suggest that a disease outbreak might be other than spontaneous. The most likely Biological Agents for terrorist use as estimated by the CDC will be individually discussed and specific recommendations made on their identification, outbreak management and patient treatment.

Course Description:This course is offered to better prepare the emergency medical services, public health officials and other first responder agencies, including law enforcement officers, for an incident involving Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). A special emphasis is placed on biological response preparedness for emergency medical services, including an overview on both trauma and chemical injury triage using the nationally recognized Simple Triage and Rapid Treatment (START) system.

Course Description:This course is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of the clinical and epidemiological features of potential bioterrorism agents. Course content includes: the origins and rationale for the CDC bioterrorism agent classification; important clinical and epidemiological features of category A agents; and important clinical and epidemiological features of Category B and C agents.

Course Description:This course is intended for pre-hospital care providers who may be called on to respond to a mass casualty incident resulting when a large numbers of victims are injured or exposed to hazardous materials or WMD agents. The course will prepare trainees to use the Simple Triage and Rapid Treatment (START) system, along with the "All Hazards" or "All Risk" Triage Tag. The course will also cover use of the Incident Management System (IMS) to respond with maximum effectiveness to a mass casualty event.
